Dear Mr Morgan

The Equality, Local Government and Communities Committee of the National Assembly for Wales is currently looking at a range of issues relating to poverty in Wales.

As part of this work, we are interested in the issue of unclaimed benefits. We are aware that the DWP publishes estimates of the take-up of income related benefits, and that the latest dataset was published in June 2016 for 2014/15. However, this data is Great Britain wide, and we are looking for more detailed information on the levels of unclaimed benefits in Wales. We would welcome clarification from you on whether this information is collected by the DWP, and if so, whether you would be willing to share it with the Committee to assist us with our work.
